12 Longest Bridges Ever Made

The majority of the longest bridges are found in China and the United States of America. However, the longest bridge ever made is located in Thailand.

Burapha Withi Expressway and Bang Na Expressway, Thailand

The bridge comprises six ways reaching a cumulative surface area of 1.9 million square metres. It was designed by J. Muller International and Asian Engineering Consultants (AEC). The box girder bridge measures 55km long, and the tolled bridge runs above the height of 30m.

Qingdao Haiwan Bridge and Jiaozhu Bay Bridge, China

The bridge has a length of more than 41.58km, second to the Bang Na Expressway. It is also the world’s longest overseas bridge. The bridge is linked to the port city of Qingdao in Shangdong Province.

The bridge-tunnel has a length of 28.32km, while the bridge’s overall length is 37.015km, made up of low-level trestle, tunnels, bridges, artificial islands, approach roads, and causeway.

Jintang Bridge, China

The Jintang Bridge is designed for speeds up to 100km/h. it is made up of main navigation spans, which is a cable-stayed bridge that measures 620m in length composed of 5 span consecutive steel box beams and two opposing towers.

It comprises the main bridge and causeway that features 23 inlet and outlet ramps. The longest bridge in Egypt is 18.705km-long and has a width from 188m to 35m. The bridge traverses the Nile River and extends from Agricultural Museum.

Vasco da Gama Bridge, Portugal

The bridge has a total length of 17km, and the construction was from 1995 to March 1998. The cable-stayed bridge has a span of 824m and a height of 145m.
